4% 5-fluorouracil je hrazen k léčbě nehyperkeratotické, nehypertrofické aktinické keratózy (stupeň I a II dle Olsena) na obličeji, uších a/nebo v kapiliciu (kštici) u dospělých pacientů v následujících situacích:
a) u pacientů s 5 – 8 viditelnými lézemi na ploše menší nebo rovno 25 cm2, kteří v minulosti neprodělali léčbu kryoterapií
b) u pacientů s 9 a více viditelnými lézemi na ploše menší nebo rovno 25 cm2
c) u pacientů s 5 a více viditelnými lézemi na ploše větší než 25 cm2
Hodnocení úspěšnosti terapie se provádí přibližně za 4 týdny po léčbě. Pokud kontrolní vyšetření prokáže, že nebylo dosaženo kompletní odpovědi, ošetřené místo bude znovu pečlivě vyšetřeno a zvážena nová léčba. Z prostředků veřejného zdravotního pojištění jsou hrazeny maximálně dva cykly.
