Frequently asked questions

How up to date is your data?

We try to keep the medicine database continuously updated. However, inaccuracies cannot be ruled out.

What can you search by on the site?

Besides the product name and its parts, you can try searching by active substance, ATC group or SÚKL prescription codes.

Where does the data come from?

The data comes from the public databases of the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) and, to a lesser extent, the General Health Insurance Company (VZP).

I cannot find a specific medicine here. How is that possible?

The complete list of medicines historically used in Czechia has over 60,000 entries and would be unwieldy.

Why can't I find information about dietary supplements?

Dietary supplements are not medicines in the true sense. Legally, they are foodstuffs.

The co-payment at the pharmacy is significantly lower than stated here. Why?

The amounts shown are the maximum permitted prices in Czechia. Manufacturers and pharmacies very often reduce their margin.
