Romosozumab je hrazen u postmenopauzálních žen s těžkou osteoporózou s vysokým rizikem opakovaných zlomenin definovanou:
– prokázanou ztrátou kostní hmoty celotělovým denzitometrem (T-skóre menší nebo rovno -2,5 SD) na standardních měřených místech (bederní páteř, proximální femur event. předloktí) a
– proděláním osteoporotické (křehké) zlomeniny.
Zároveň nebyly diagnostikovány infarkt myokardu a/nebo cévní mozková příhoda.
Z prostředků veřejného zdravotního pojištění je pacientkám hrazena léčba romosozumabem (obvykle v kombinaci s vápníkem a vitaminem D) trvající maximálně jeden rok, a zároveň by měla být léčba následována antiosteoresorpční látkou (např. bisfosfonáty nebo denosumabem) obvykle v kombinaci s vápníkem a vitaminem D.
