Fulvestrant je hrazen v léčbě hormonálně dependentního (ER pozitivního) lokálně pokročilého nebo metastatického karcinomu prsu u postmenopauzálních žen:
1) po vyčerpání předchozí léčby tamoxifenem a inhibitory aromatázy (tj. ve 3. linii léčby) při relapsu onemocnění v průběhu nebo po adjuvantní antiestrogenové terapii nebo progresi onemocnění při léčbě antiestrogeny.
2) které nebyly dříve léčeny endokrinní léčbou, pokud jejich stav výkonnosti odpovídá ECOG 0-1 a pokud nejsou onemocněním postiženy viscerální orgány.
Pro oba body platí, že fulvestrant je hrazen do progrese onemocnění či do doby, kdy pacientka léčbu přestane snášet.
