Nedojde-li k prokazatelnému zlepšení kompenzace diabetu o 7 % či vyššímu poklesu hladiny HbA1c při kontrole po 6 měsících léčby, semaglutid není dále hrazen. V kombinaci s inzulinem nejsou léčivé přípravky s obsahem semaglutidu hrazeny. Z prostředků veřejného zdravotního pojištění je hrazeno pouze jedno předplněné pero na dobu 28 dnů. Dávkování nad 0,5 mg týdně není z prostředků veřejného zdravotního pojištění hrazeno.
