Léčba inhalation fixní kombinací budesonid/formoterol je hrazena u dospělých pacientů s chronickou obstrukční plicní nemocí (CHOPN) s postbronchodilatační hodnotou FEV1 méně 50 % náležité hodnoty a současně s přítomností nejméně jednoho z následujících klinických fenotypů: frekventní exacerbátor (2 a více exacerbace za posledních 12 měsíců) a/nebo nemocný s překryvem CHOPN a astmatu (ACOS/ACO). Podmínkou úhrady v této indikaci je dobrá spolupráce pacienta nekuřáka či kuřáka spolupracujícího na zanechání kouření, definovaného jako kuřáka, který je plně adherentní, tj. dodržuje léčebný/pohybový režim, užívá správně všechny předepsané léky a minimálně jednou u něho byla provedena a zdokumentována cílená intervence v rámci léčby závislosti na tabáku.
