Peginterferon alfa-2a je hrazen: 1. v kombinaci s dalšími léčivými přípravky k léčbě akutní a chronické hepatitidy C. 2. po dobu max. 48 týdnů v léčbě hepatitidy B jako lék 1. volby u pacientů dosud neléčených ostatními antivirotiky za splnění všech následujících podmínek: 1. doba trvání infekce více než 6 měsíců, 2. přítomnost významné replikace viru (hladina HBV DNA v séru vyšší než 2 000 IU/ml), 3. prokázaný aktivní zánět a/nebo fibróza, 4. při důsledném dodržení kontraindikací léčby. Léčba je ukončena při vzniku rezistence s breakthrough fenoménem. 3. u Ph negativních myeloproliferativních onemocnění (pravá polycytémie, esenciální trombocytémie a primární myelofibróza) v 2. a vyšší linii terapie (po selhání venepunkcí nebo anagrelidu nebo hydroxyurey) a v graviditě nebo při prokazatelné nemožnosti podat jinou léčbu již v 1. linii terapie.
