Léčba fampridinem je ukončena, pokud během prvních 4 týdnů nedojde ke klinicky významné odpovědi, která je definovaná zlepšením o 8 a více bodů v 12-položkové škále hodnocení poruch chůze onemocnění roztroušenou sklerózou (Twelve Item Multiple Sclerosis Walking Scale, MSWS-12) a zároveň zlepšením rychlosti chůze změřené pomocí testu chůze na čas – T25FW. Ověření účinnosti terapie se provádí každých 6 months. Pokud pacient nevykazuje zlepšení v parametru MSWS-12 nebo T25FW oproti stavu před zahájením léčby, musí být léčba ukončena.
