Thyrotropin je hrazen:
1) k testování s thyreoglobulinem v séru (Tg) se zobrazením pomocí radiojódu nebo bez něho k detekci zbytků štítné žlázy a dobře diferencovaného karcinomu štítné žlázy u pacientů po thyreoidektomii, kteří jsou léčeni hormonální supresivní terapií (THST).
2) u pacientů s dobře diferencovaným karcinomem štítné žlázy a s nízkým rizikem, kteří mají nedetekovatelné hladiny Tg v séru při THST a nedochází u nich ke zvýšení hladin Tg po stimulaci rh TSH, mohou být kontrolováni vyšetřením hladin Tg stimulovaných rh TSH.
3) k předterapeutické stimulaci pacientů s nízkým rizikem po thyreoidektomii, léčených hormonální supresivní terapií (THST), v kombinaci s aplikací radioaktivního jódu (131 I) v dávce v rozmezí 30 mCi (1,1GBq) až 100 mCi (3,7GBq) z důvodu ablace reziduální tkáně štítné žlázy.
