V případě, že se odpověď na methylnaltrexon nedostaví po dávce podané předcházející den, mohou pacienti dostat dvě následné, po sobě jdoucí dávky, mezi nimiž je interval 24 hodin. V případě, že se odpověď nedostaví ani po těchto opakovaných dávkách, není léčivý přípravek nadále hrazen.
